Previous Professional Experience

  • Approximately 20 years in the global pharmaceutical R&D division of a major pharmaceutical firm, Abbott Laboratories, including over 12 years as Vice President of Drug Safety/Preclinical Safety; responsibilities included leading as many as 400 FTEs in toxicology, pathology, comparative medicine, metabolism, pharmacokinetics, analytical chemistry, and drug analysis. Directed clinical development of anti-epileptic drug candidate. Experience with drug and device development with a large number of targets for the diseases listed below where NDAs were approved, along with anemia, asthma, congestive heart failure, diabetes, fungal disease, hepatic disease, iron deficiency, lupus erythematosis, pain management, stents, schitzophrenia, surgical suturing, urinary incontinence, and viral disease.
  • Four years in the petrochemical industry (Shell Development Company) managing pathology and reproductive toxicology.
  • Five years in a major contract research organization (Hazleton/Covance) as a staff pathologist, Head of Pathology in the UK, and Manager of Comparative Medicine.

Regulatory Experience

  • Supporting over 50 firms in vital drug development issues.
  • Over 70 presentations before U.S. F.D.A. (CDER & CBER), E.P.A and various global regulatory bodies, including the E.M.E.A. in Europe, K.I.K.O. in Japan, the H.P.B. in Canada, and numerous U.K., European and South American regulatory bodies.
  • Actively contributed to approximately 25 successful new drug applications with small molecules and biologicals for acid reflux, AIDs, analgesia, anesthesia, benign prostatic hyperplasia, cancer, cardiovascular disorders, erectile dysfunction, gastric motility, hormone replacement therapy, immunosuppression, infectious diseases, migrane headaches, neurological diseases, obesity, psychiatric diseases, pulmonary dysfunction, renal failure, rheumatoid arthritis sedation, seizures and thromboses.
